Way back in August, we told you about Paramount Pictures and Joe Roth teaming up to take Mattel’s MAX STEEL action figures (and later an animated series) to the big screen. Roth, who is a producer on Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland” at Disney, and produced last summer’s “Hellboy 2: The Golden Army,” will serve as executive producer on “Max Steel”.

Now, Variety reports that Taylor Lautner, who plays Jacob Black in The Twilight Saga: New Moon – has signed on to star in “Max Steel,” which centers on a 19-year-old extreme sports junkie recruited by a secret agency after an accident infects his body with nanobots, making him superhuman.
