And the pilot orders keep coming from Syfy. Yesterday we told you about Ghost Ghirls; today its DC’s Booster Gold. Yes, that annoying guy from Smallville’s last season. But more important, the star of several DC Comics. And although an executive producer is Greg Berlanti, who wrote the script for Green Lantern, better still is the writer attached to this new pilot: Andrew Kreisberg, who has written for both Fringe and Eli Stone. Two of the best shows on TV ever.
THR first broke the news, and describes the project as a one-hour drama:
The story will center on Booster Gold, a washed-up athlete from the future who travels back to the present in hopes of becoming the greatest super hero of all time. Instead of chasing criminals, however, his main priority is chasing fame and money. But Booster Gold discovers that being a hero takes more than just a megawatt smile, and that the future doesn’t happen without first protecting the present.
We’re presuming – or at least hoping – that the storylines will be skewed towards the more mature version of the character from the future, and that he won’t be portrayed week after week as the annoying character we saw in Smallville. We’ll keep you posted.
