The first Ruby, not the second one who married Jared Padalecki in real life. And yes, Katie Cassidy HAS been cast as Laurel, joining Stephen Amell as Oliver/Arrow, David Ramsey as John Diggle, and as we told you yesterday, Susanna Thompson as Oliver’s mother Moira. The question is, on The CW‘s Arrow, will Laurel also be Black Canary? And if so, when will we know? We had no hint in the casting breakdowns we showed you last month:

What They’re Looking For: 28 years old, smart sexy, Laurel is a legal aid attorney determined to use her life as a one-woman war against the 1% following the death of her younger sister Sara. A sister, who as luck would have it, just so happened to have died aboard Oliver’s yacht.

A one-woman war against the 1% – that would include Oliver, right? Uh oh. Hopefully we’ll get a chance to find out. As casting continues forward, we’re hoping that the pilot will turn out to be terrific, and that The CW will agree.
