Just a few days ago we brought you Christopher Nolan‘s (Inception) shortlist of directors for the impending and as yet Untitled Superman Project (a.k.a. Superman: The Man of Steel). That list included the likes of Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code), Zack Snyder (Watchmen, Sucker Punch), Matt Reeves (Let Me In), Tony Scott (Unstoppable) and Jonathan Liebesman (Battle: Los Angeles).
Now, sources for The LA Times report that Darren Aronofsky (Black Swan) is the newest name being thrown into contention to direct the upcoming Superman reboot for Warner Bros. and Producers Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas who are overseeing the project for the studio are expected to make a decision on a director within the next few weeks.
Superman: Man of Steel is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
