Not too much is known about J.J. Abrams‘ new, super-secret sci-fi thriller Super 8, starring Kyle Chandler, Elle Fanning, Ron Eldard and Amanda Michalka. The film is said to be an homage to Super 8 producer Steven Spielberg‘s Amblin films like Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

Now we know one more thing about the film, Paramount Pictures has announced that Super 8 will hit theaters on June 10, 2011. The Summer of 2011 is going to be a busy one for moviegoers with the releases of Thor, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, X-Men: First Class, Green Lantern, Rise of the Apes, Priest, Transformers: The Dark of the Moon, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II, Captain America: The First Avenger and Cowboys & Aliens… to name a few.
