Whedon alum, Summer Glau (“Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles”, “Dollhouse”, “Serenity”) has landed a leading role in NBC’s pilot for its new superhero drama, “The Cape”, starring David Lyons. She will play Orwell, a “cute and intrepid investigative blogger who fearlessly goes after corrupt cops and costumed bad guys.”

It is good to see that the show will also take advantage of Glau’s graceful physical prowess. According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, Glau’s character will “get physical and is quite capable of kicking ass.”

“The Cape” is set in a fictional Los Angeles and follows a former cop who after being framed for a crime becomes a masked superhero called the Cape, fighting to clear his name and reunite with his son.
