Suicide Girls Get Their Own Comic Book Tomorrow, I am Very Confused

Softcore pin-up site, Suicide Girls, took alt lifestyle chicks and made them the mainstream fantasy of vanilla dudes who wouldn’t get a second look from said alt lifestyle chicks in a million years. As of March of this year, the site boasts over 2,100 models, boasts over 300k visits a day and receives over 1,000 applications per week from models wanting to join the community. This summer they’re expanding their reach with a new miniseries by IDW.

Sexy, mysterious, and more than a little bit dangerous, the Suicide Girls are about to change what you think beautiful girls can do! This wild adventure pits the SG against a deranged killer and a crazed corporate cabal. Written by writer/actress Brea Grant (We Will Bury You) and drawn by David Hahn (Bite Club)—with covers by Eisner-winner Cameron Stewart (Seaguy)—there will be tattoos, piercings, and a whole lot of butt-kickin’ girls and burlesque. This is not your mother’s pretty-girl comic!

Suicide Girls 1 (of 4) hit stores tomorrow.

[The Shakedown]

Who doesn’t think a punk/goth/rockabilly chick is hot every once in a while? Who doesn’t think a nekkid punk/goth/rockabilly chick is hot every once in a while? Who thinks nekkid hot punk/goth/rockabilly chicks should have their own comic book? Yeah, this last one is where that line of reasoning lost me too. The idea is gimmicky as hell. Kinda like an all-girl Mystery Machine gang without the dog. I could be totally wrong, of course; it’s just the IDEA of the comic sounds silly to me.
