Back in July, we brought you the news when Paramount Pictures shifted the release date of the as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel from its original June 29th, 2012 release date to the ambiguous and dateless fourth quarter of 2012 or possibly the summer of 2013. Just a few weeks ago, we reported that Viacom CEO Philippe Dauman said that J.J. Abrams is “focused on developing the next installment of our Star Trek franchise” for a potential release in 2013.
Now, Deadline reports that the sequel will be hitting theaters on May 17th, 2013 and director J.J. Abrams will be filming the hotly anticipated follow-up in 3D.
The as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel is slated to hit theaters on May 17th, 2013.
