SPY HUNTER Shifting Into Gear At Warner Bros.

Warner Bros. is set to develop a big screen adaptation of the Midway video game Spy Hunter. Chad St. John is set to write the script, which follows a highly-trained spy hunter whose job it is to eliminate rogue spies when they become liabilities to their governments. Dan Lin and Roy Lee of Vertigo are producing.

Spy Hunter was previously set up at Universal, where both Paul W.S. Anderson & John Woo were attached to direct at various points and Dwayne Johnson was to take the lead role.

Warner Bros. picked up most of Midway‘s assets in bankruptcy court last summer for $33 million, which gave the studio rights to Spy Hunter, Joust, and Mortal Kombat – among other other game franchises.
