SPOILER ALERT! The second hour of the CW’s “Smallville: Absolute Justice” movie event on Friday night is being called a “comic-book battle royale”! The Geoff Johns-penned “Smallville” movie is a plethora of DC comic book characters. Justin Hartley, who plays Green Arrow aka Oliver Queen says:
“At one point, you get to see all of us doing the things we do. Clark’s superspeeding, Hawkman’s doing his thing with the mace, Stargirl is doing flips and stuff, Oliver is shooting his arrows…it all takes place at once. It’s a firefight with superheroes!”
But that’s not the only fighting or friction experienced in this movie, DC fans know that Hawkman and Green Arrow don’t exactly hit it off. Hartley explains:
“These two guys do not get along. Hawkman kind of has his way with him, and Oliver is not going to let that go too easily. But throughout the show, they sort of develop an understanding of each other…there’s like a bromance, you know?”
Supes aka actor, Tom Welling helmed the second hour of the movie. Hartley talks about how it was for to work with Welling as a director:
“He is extremely gifted. He has vision, knows what he wants…and at the same time, he’ll ask for help if he needs it. He’s a pleasure to work for.”
Geoff Johns adds:
“To have Tom come in and do the second hour was great. He’s been on the show the whole time, so it’s cool to see how he approaches the material.”
The “Smallville: Absolute Justice” two-hour movie event airs tomorrow, Friday, February 5th at 8/7 C on the CW.
