Spider-Man: Who Is Playing J. Jonah Jameson? Plus, Pictures of Spidey In Action On the Set

Is your Spidey Sense tingling?… there’s no such thing, so you better have that checked out by a doctor *stat*. Seriously though, we seem to be getting a fairly steady flow of info on director Marc Webb‘s, as yet Unititled Spider-Man Reboot. Not enough to spoil anything, just enough to keep us interested, and that’s how we like it!

Just last week, we got our first look at our new Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the new suit and received confirmation from the lovely Emma Stone (Gwen Stacy) that our new Spidey will be employing traditional/mechanical web-shooters. We’ve also brought you some behind the scenes photos of the lovely Miss Stone, Andrew Garfield in his plain Peter Parker duds, and most recently Denis Leary on the LA set of the film, all decked out in his Capt. George Stacy, NYPD gear.

Thanks to OnLocationVacations, now we get to look at some cool action shots from the L.A. set of the film. While the pictures are a bit blurry, at least we get to see some action from the film. Check them out below!

Not only do you get to see pictures but, that wonderful Paparazzi rag TMZ also got some video of Spidey flipping into the back of a pickup truck while filming. Their video isn’t embeddable, so you’ll have to go over there to check it out. But, wait… there’s more Spidey news below!

If you’ve been wondering why we haven’t heard who is playing J. Jonah Jameson in Marc Webb‘s reboot, you’re not alone. We’ve been trying for months to figure out who could possibly be a suitable replacement for J.K. Simmons, who portrayed Jameson in Sam Raimi‘s Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3.

Back in October, we brought you a rumor that John Slattery (Iron Man 2, Mad Men) and Sam Elliot (Ghost Rider, Tombstone) were reportedly in contention for the role. Now, the guys over at IGN have spoken to “very reliable sources” who said that while The Daily Bugle will be present in the film, Peter Parker’s boss, J. Jonah Jameson will not appear in the film at all.

No explanation was given for the character being omitted from the reboot.

The Untitled Spider-Man Reboot starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen, Sally Field, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Julianne Nicholson, Chris Zylka and Annie Parisse is slated to hit theaters on July 3rd, 2012
