Spider-Man 4 Production Halted, Raimi Has Script Problems And Casting Issues

Production on Spider-Man 4 has reportedly stalled due to a dispute over the film’s script. According to Deadline Hollywood, the sequel could miss its May 5, 2011 release date because of a difference of opinion between director Sam Raimi and Sony Pictures about the story, which has already gone through several drafts.

Raimi is also said to be insisting that John Malkovich play the film’s villain, but Anne Hathaway’s reported involvement in the project is now in question.

“I’m not so sure we’re going in that direction,” an insider said about Hathaway.

Sony has not officially announced the schedule push
