Back in March, we told you that director Neill Blomkamp‘s (District 9) forthcoming sci-fi film, Elysium. starring Sharlto Copley (Men in Black III) and Matt Damon (True Grit, The Adjustment Bureau), Wagner Moura (Elite Squad, Elite Squad 2), Jodie Foster (Carnage) and William Fichtner (The Dark Knight, Drive Angry 3D) was set to be released on March 8th, 2013.

Now, Variety reports that Sony Pictures has moved the release date of Elysium up one week and will no open on March 1st, 2013.

Production on Elysium is set to begin in July.
