Earlier, we brought you the news that Universal Pictures cast Chris Hemsworth (Thor, Star Trek) in the role of The Huntsman, opposite Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1) as Snow White in their forthcoming film, directed by Rupert Sanders (The Low Dweller), entitled Snow White and the Huntsman.
Now, THR reports that Eddie Izzard (Treasure Island, M), Ian McShane (Jack the Giant Killer), Bob Hoskins (Neverland) and Toby Jones (The Hunger Games) have joined the cast of Snow White and the Huntsman, all four actors will portray dwarfs in the film. Izzard will portray Tiberius, the biggest dwarf of all, McShane will play Caesar, the dwarf leader, Hoskins will portray a blind dwarf named Constantine, and Toby Jones will play Claudius, a shy dwarf.
The film is said to offer a different take on the classic fairy tale, having Snow White (Kristen Stewart) banished by the evil queen (Charlize Theron), and forming a bond with the man who was sent to kill her, The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). The Huntsman instead becomes her mentor, teaching her how to fight and defend herself.
Snow White and the Huntsman is slated to hit theaters on June 1st, 2012.
