At the end of last month, we brought you a first look at character portraits released at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con from Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman. From those images alone, you know that this version of the classic fairy tale is nothing like the Disney animated original. Snow White (Kristen Stewart) will get her war on against the evil queen (Charlize Theron).

Now, through the wonderful world of the Twitterverse, Palek Patel, producer of Snow White and the Huntsman, has announced the casting of Snow White’s parents. Noah Huntley (28 Days Later) will be playing Snow’s father and model-turned-actress Liberty Ross (W.E.) will play her mother.
Synopsis:
The film is said to offer a different take on the classic fairy tale, having Snow White (Kristen Stewart) banished by the evil queen (Charlize Theron), and forming a bond with the man who was sent to kill her, The Huntsman (Chris Hemsworth). The Huntsman instead becomes her mentor, teaching her how to fight and defend herself and she “learns the ways of a warrior in the woods.”
Snow White and the Huntsman begins shooting this month and is slated to hit theaters on June 1st, 2012.
