Fans of Allison Mack’s “Smallville” character, Chloe Sullivan, have honored her with a remarkable tribute in the form of a sixty-second commercial, called “Legendary”. The commercial aired twice last Friday on the CW affiliate KTLA in Los Angeles, honoring Chloe as an inspirational and positive role model to young women, is now online for all to see! Check out the commercial below.
Fan-Made Legendary Chloe Commercial
Chloe fans were delighted to see this tribute air on evening of the “Smallville” season finale, “Salvation”, but a blog post from the episode’s director, Greg Beeman, has stirred up a bee hive of fan anxiety over Mack’s involvement (or lack thereof) in the next season of “Smallville”. This news gave the timing of this tribute a bittersweet context. Beeman leaked that Mack would be leaving the show next season and would only be back for a “couple of episodes”. Neither the CW nor the show writers have confirmed this news. There has been no official announcement confirming Mack’s supposed limited appearances for season ten of “Smallville” yet.
Here is what Beeman originally posted on his blog:
“Also, Alison Mack. It was amazing to see her again. She was just a girl of 18 or 19 when the show began. Now she is a woman, so mature and together. She was going through some changes on this episode, because she was choosing to move on from the show. It looks like she’ll be back for a couple of episodes but not full time. She and I got to talk about the experience of leaving behind something that you’ve grown so attached to.”
It was quickly edited to this, which is more in the spirit of the “Legendary” Commercial:
“Also, Alison Mack. It was amazing to see her again. She was just a girl of 18 or 19 when the show began. Now she is a woman, so mature and together. I am crazy about her as an actress, from the very beginning she was together and committed in her performances and that hasn’t waned one bit. As a person she is big-hearted and fun to be around.”
Keep it here, Chloe fans. SciFi Mafia will keep you posted on “Smallville” news as it develops!
