Aside from the “no tights, no flights” resolution for the Smallville finale, another hot question fans are eager to find the answer is about a character not originally in the DC mythology of Superman, Chloe Sullivan. Chloe was a character created for Smallville as Clark’s longtime friend and grounding influence and has built quite a fan following over the years.
Allison Mack had signed on to appear in five episodes for this final season, but will also be back for the series two-hour finale. Mack talked about her decision to come back to the show one last time:
“It was important for me to pay homage to the character, the people I’ve worked with and the fans,” she says. “I had a realization, while I was doing the middle five episodes, that this has been such a huge part of my life, and I am so blessed and so lucky to have had this opportunity. I wanted to make sure that I was respectful of that.”
Don’t worry Chloe fans, Mack says her storyline wrap up nicely:
“[Chloe] ends in a very healthy and levelheaded way. I think that the writers have respected my character for such a long time, and she goes out with the same affection she came in with.”
Smallville returns to The CW with new episodes on April 15th and concludes with a two-hour series finale on May 13th, 2011.
