SMALLVILLE: Lois Lane Begot Lois Lane And The Perks Of Superhero Spouses

This final season on The CW’s Smallville, Lois is Lois’ mother. Teri Hatcher (Desperate Housewives, Coraline), who played Lois Lane in Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman in the early 1990’s, has been cast as Ella Lane, the Mother of  Erica Durance’s Lois Lane. Hatcher will join Peyton List and Michael Ironside, who return to reprise their roles as Lucy Lane and General Sam Lane.

In other casting news, there are definitely perks involved in being a superhero’s spouse. Lindsay Hartley (Days of Our Lives, Passions), wife of Justin Hartley (Green Arrow), has been cast for this last season of the show. Executive producer Kelly Souders teases Hartley’s role:

“Her character is a woman who takes matters into her own hands. And those hands are wickedly dangerous!  She won’t be working with Justin but she’ll have her hands full with Clark (Tom Welling)!”

Another superhero spouse appearing in Smallville this season is Lexa Doig (V, SG-1), whose husband is Michael Shanks (Hawkman). Doig will play Christina Lamell, a doctor working for Tess Mercer (Cassidy Freeman).
