Sloat Talks About The Paranormal Activity Sequel

Orin Peli’s Paranormal Activity, a film which showed what happened after a young, middle class couple (Katie Featherston and Micah Sloat) move into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be somehow demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to – was a box office success (understatement of the century).

Now, star Micah Sloat has said that the follow-up to the hit film will not be a stereotypical Hollywood horror sequel. Speaking to Movieweb, the actor didn’t reveal any details about the sequel’s plot, but he promised that it would deliver a “unique” experience not unlike the original.

Sloat said,

“Paramount and the producers are very aware of what happened with Blair Witch 2, and how you can’t really take something that’s unique like Blair Witch or Paranormal and then follow it up with just a typical Hollywood horror film. It just doesn’t work”

He added:

“I think you can expect Paranormal Activity 2 to be just as unique, or at least have a quality of uniqueness, just like the original did, in its own way and I think it’s really going to be a great movie.”

Paranormal Activity will be released on DVD and Blu-ray in the US on December 29.
