SIEGE Brings An End To The AVENGERS

Marvel has revealed that event series Siege will bring about an end to the current line of Avengers comics. According to the publisher’s solicitations preview lists, the series finales of The New Avengers, Dark Avengers, The Mighty Avengers and Avengers: The Initiative take place in April.

The various solicitations make reference to “the Age of Heroes” and “the Heroic Age” so fans are already predicting the return of many Avengers characters in some form after the four-issue Siege series concludes.

Siege scribe Brian Michael Bendis joked on Twitter:

“Siege ends the Avengers – and this is how I find out?”

Also in April, Bendis teams up with artist Bryan Hitch for New Avengers: Finale, which promises to tackle unanswered questions in the wake of Siege.

Its solicitation reads:

“The entirety of the Marvel landscape has changed and many Avengers do not know their place in it. But before they can move on, some very important loose ends need to be tied up – aka, it’s payback time.”
