Every day brings us closer to The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Thank goodness they are feeding our need by releasing more footage and screen shots. Still, we should be in just-about-total frenzy by the time the tickets go on sale on November 7. Excellent! Today we have the second TV spot, 16 absolutely gorgeous new screenshots and one heartstoppingly beautiful behind-the-scenes shot. It’s going to be quite a journey.

Did you see it? RealD 3D, HFR (High Frame Rate) 3D, and IMAX 3D. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey will be the first film released in this format, and we’ll know, possibly, by November 7 just which theaters are taking Peter Jackson up on his offer to check out the latest thing. So, looks like we’ll be seeing the movie twice on December 14. For comparison’s sake, of course. We’d better warn the theater to stock up on Milk Duds.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is slated to hit theaters on December 14, 2012.  The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug will be released Dec. 13, 2013; the third installment in the series, The Hobbit: There and Back Again, will hit theaters July 18, 2014.
