Universal Pictures has announced the official release date for Director Edgar Wright’s big screen adaptation of Bryan Lee O’Malley’s comic book series “Scott Pilgrim vs. The World”. The film stars Michael Cera in the lead role, along with Anna Kendrick, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Brandon Routh and Jason Schwartzman and is now scheduled to hit US theaters on August 13.

Just as the release date was announced, the aforementioned director – Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) took to his twitter account and said,

What a total ‘dick’ move, Edgar! Though it did remind me why we love you in the first place. You’re a gentleman, a scholar and one clever bastard. Now, the first REAL trailer for Pilgrim better be damn good.
