Back in March, we brought you the news when actor Gary Oldman (The Dark Knight Rises) was cast in director José Padilha‘s (Elite Squad, Elite Squad 2) forthcoming remake of RoboCop as the scientist who creates the super-human cyborg known as RoboCop, played by Joel Kinnaman (The Darkest Hour).

Now, THR reports that Samuel L. Jackson has joined the cast as Pat Novak, a charismatic media mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world.

RoboCop is slated to hit theaters on August 9th, 2013.
