First, Dan Dare and now a sci-fi version of literary hero Allan Quatermain. Sam Worthington is attached to the lead role in DreamWorks’ Quatermain. Allan Quatermain was the hero of H. Rider Haggard’s novel, King Solomon’s Mines and the follow-up novel, Allan Quatermain.

The new project, titled Quartermain, is set in a time in which humans have left Earth and sees Quatermain return to the planet from a sojourn in space, embarking on another “King Solomon’s Mines”-style adventure but on a planetwide scale.

Mark Verheiden (Timecop) wrote the first draft of the script, and Miles Millar and Alfred Gough (Smallville, I Am Number Four) are producing the project. No director has been attached.
