Those of us who recently watched the series finale of The CW‘s hit series Smallville, finally witnessed Clark Kent embrace his destiny and become the man of steel. Now, after a decade growing into the tights and cape of DC Comics‘ legendary big blue Boy Scout, could Smallville‘s star, Tom Welling be jumping into a Marvel Comics role?
The folks over at What’sPlaying say that Welling is on Marvel’s radar for a future superhero adaptation. The specific role that Marvel is interested in Welling for, is currently unknown. With all of the adaptations in the Marvel Studios pipeline, it’s anybody’s guess.
Welling was recently in the running for the Huntsman role in Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman, which went to Chris Hemsworth. Smallville creators, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are set to produce a Quatermain reboot that we had told you about previously, which was supposed to star Sam Worthington. The Clash of the Titans star is reportedly no longer on-board the project, and Gough is said to be quite keen on working with the 34 year old actor again, though there’s no word if he’s been offered that role.
