Neill Blomkamp (District 9) may be set to direct The Hobbit. Considering the fact that Director Peter Jackson (The Lord of the Rings) produced District 9 and is friends with the director, he very well could have had a hand in sending Blomkamp to Hobbiton.

TheOneRing cites “a spy report that stated it as cold, hard, unsurprising fact.” The site cautions that they haven’t received verification yet, it should be considered rumor for now and it may not be officially revealed until Comic-Con.
