Just a couple of weeks ago, we brought you the news that Joseph Gordon-Levitt (Live with It, Looper) was in talks to reunite with his Inception director Christopher Nolan in The Dark Knight Rises. Gordon-Levitt joining the cast made for two of Nolan’s Inception cast making their way to Gotham.

Now, it seems cast-member number three from Inception could be on her way to join the Caped Crusader as well.  After previous rumors that she had passed on the role of Catwoman, Le Figaro (via Batman News) reports that Marion Cotillard (Inception, Contagion) will appear in The Dark Knight Rises.

“Marion Cotillard in Batman 3. The actress, who is expecting a child in the spring with Guillaume Canet, will be scarce this year. She’ll do a single film and her choice fell on Batman 3. This blockbuster produced by Warner Bros. enables her to work with the director Christopher Nolan, with whom she had turned very successful sci-fi Inception. Marion Cotillard will join the filming this summer in Los Angeles. She will share the bill with Anne Hathaway.”

The French publication did not state which character Cotillard would play in the film, and Warner Bros. has yet to confirm or deny her as part of the cast.

Update:

THR has confirmed that a rep for the actress in Paris said that her involvement in the film is currently “in discussions, but nothing has been confirmed yet.”

The Dark Knight Rises is slated to hit theaters on July 20th, 2012.
