Rumor Has It! Harrison Ford Is In Talks for Ridley Scott’s New BLADE RUNNER [Updated]

Back in August, producer Andrew A. Kosove claimed that the new Blade Runner movie would not feature the character of Rick Deckard, portrayed in the original film by Harrison Ford. Though nothing was set in stone at the time, it was said that the movie was liable to be a sequel featuring an entirely new cast of characters.

Despite those previous statement, Twitchfilm reporting that Harrison Ford has now entered into early talks to appear in the as yet Untitled Blade Runner Project. If the report holds true, it would mean that the film would most definitely be a direct sequel to the 1982 cult classic.

[Update]

Producer Andrew Kosove told Deadline that the report of Ford being in talks is false:

“It is absolutely patently false that there has been any discussion about Harrison Ford being in Blade Runner. To be clear, what we are trying to do with Ridley now is go through the painstaking process of trying to break the back of the story, figure out the direction we’re going to take the movie and find a writer to work on it. The casting of the movie could not be further from our minds at this moment.”

The Untitled Blade Runner Project is slated to hit theaters in 2014.
