Rumor Has It! Birthday Boy Sam Witwer To Voice Darth Maul On Star Wars: The Clone Wars

Happy Birthday to one of our favorite TV vampires, Sam Witwer, Aidan on Syfy’s Being Human. He totally sells the cold blooded monster with a heart of gold, with an élan that cannot be faked. It’s not the birthday that’s the rumor, nor is it the coolness, which is obvious. It’s a cool bit o’ casting news, and we’re really hoping it’s true.

Remember when we told you last week that Darth Maul was apparently only “nearly” dead? Or at least is in some way going to be appearing on Star Wars: The Clone Wars next spring? Well guess who is, according to Nuke The Fridge, going to voice the very tattooed Sith apprentice? Yes, the Birthday Man himself! Here’s more about Mr. Witwer and his Star Wars involvement:

Witwer is an experienced actor who has appeared in such television shows as C.S.I., Dexter, Being Human, Dark Angel, JAG, Battlestar Galactica, and Smallville.  He is no stranger to the Star Wars Universe either.  Witwer has done extensive voice work on Star Wars The Force Unleashed 1 & 2, and the Ultimate Sith Edition video games, and he has also voiced the part of ‘The Son’ on Star Wars: The Clone Wars animated series.

Please excuse the mixed show references, but – Make It So!

We will, of course, keep you posted.

Star Wars: The Clone Wars airs Fridays at 8/7c on Cartoon Network.
