Earlier this week, we brought you a rumor put forth by Production Weekly that Oscar winner, Christoph Waltz (Inglourious Basterds, The Green Hornet) was reportedly being considered by Sony’s Columbia Pictures to play the villain in director Marc Webb‘s ((500) Days of Summer) Untitled Spider-Man Reboot, starring Andrew Garfield (Never Let Me Go).

SuperHeroHype now states that they have “spoken directly to sources inside the production and there is definitively no truth to this rumor”

The Untitled Spider-Man Reboot is slated to hit theaters on July 3rd, 2012.
