Ron Moore On The Emmy Snub To BSG And Olmos On More BSG Movies

bsg-lastsupperAt the Battlestar Galactica panel at San Diego’s Comic-con, Ron Moore voiced his opinion on the Emmy snub to Battlestar Galactica in the major categories.

Moore ranted to the appreciative audience:

“It was a fraking crime that the entire cast of ‘Battlestar’ was never recognize for the performance they gave week in and week out.  We would not be here talking about the about ‘Caprica’ if not for the ensemble of actors on ‘Battlestar.'”

There is also word of “The Plan”, the Syfy movie helmed by Edward James Olmos will hit the DVD shelves of retailers in October with a Syfy airdate soon after.

When asked, Olmos doesn’t think that “The Plan” will be the last BSG movie. Olmos explains:

“As a matter of fact, I’ve got to tell you right now. Because of you all, what you’re doing, because of the love for that world…I can guarantee that this will not be the last movie.”

Olmos adds that the story could continue with Adama’s life on Earth:

“In fact, I’ve got the entire script around them. I know exactly what happened to him. Let me put it to you this way: when we next see Adama, it will be in a very rustic log cabin and there will be a knock at the door and it will be his old friend Colonial Tigh saying, “We have a problem.”

Of course, this is all wishful thinking at this point.  Strong DVD sales and consumer support with help push concepts like this through!  It’s a good thing that they meticulously documented the BSG sets in order to recreate them for future use.

Here is an interview with Ron Moore on the future of BSG, similar themes in “Caprica”,

Stay tuned for coverage of the “Caprica” panel.
