Ron Howard in Talks to Direct Neil Gaiman’s THE GRAVEYARD BOOK

The-Graveyard-Book-wide

I was late to the party on The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. I only just read it this past summer and it was my favorite book of the the year. We reported in May that Henry Selik was up to direct, but it seems now that Ron Howard in talks to be the one to bring the movie to life.

The Walt Disney Pictures film will be produced by Gil Netter (Life of Pi) and Ben Browning (Odine) and won’t be stop motion as once planned, but live action according to THR.

Synopsis

Bod is an unusual boy who inhabits an unusual place-he’s the only living resident of a graveyard. Raised from infancy by the ghosts, werewolves, and other cemetery denizens, Bod has learned the antiquated customs of his guardians’ time as well as their timely ghostly teachings-like the ability to Fade. Can a boy raised by ghosts face the wonders and terrors of the worlds of both the living and the dead? And then there are things like ghouls that aren’t really one thing or the other.

No release date confirmed for The Graveyard Book as of yet, but we will keep you posted.
