Rob Letterman to Direct R.L. Stein’s GOOSEBUMPS Movie

I can attribute my insatiable appetite for books to authors like R.L. Stein who penned the series Goosebumps series, starting with Welcome to Dead House, which was released in July 1992. Since then, my daughter has also enjoyed the books and the old television series that aired in the 90’s and has since been aired on The Hub. She and other fans will be thrilled to hear that the Goosebumps movie has found its director.

We had reported in January of 2012 that writer Darren Lemke (Jack the Giant Killer, Shrek Forever) was looking to close a deal with Columbia but the movie has since moved to Sony Pictures and no word if that deal was sealed with the new production company. According to Deadline, Sony Pictures is in negations with Gulliver’s Travels and Monsters vs Aliens director Rob Letterman. Both of those movies are in heavy rotation at our house so I’m thrilled at the choice.

We’ll keep you posted on the latest for the Goosebumps movie.
