Rise of the Guardians: Chris Pine and Hugh Jackman To Lend Their Voices To DreamWorks Animations’ Next Film


DreamWorks Animation has announced that their next 3D feature will be adapted from the William Joyce (Rolie Polie Olie, Meet the Robinsons) book entitled The Guardians of Childhood. The big-screen, animated adaptation will be titled Rise of the Guardians, and will star the voices of Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Alec Baldwin, Chris Pine and Isla Fisher.

David Lindsay-Abaire wrote the screenplay, which follows a group of heroic childhood legends, each with extraordinary abilities. When Pitch (Jude Law), an evil spirit akin to the boogeyman, lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.

Peter Ramsey will direct the film, which will be executive-produced by Guillermo del Toro and Michael Siegel.

Rise of the Guardians is slated to hit theaters on November 21st, 2012.
