RIDDICK: Karl Urban to Return as Vaako for the Third Film

Just last week, we brought you some brand new concept art directly from Vin Diesel, who has said that writer/director David Twohy told him that Riddick would be a “true R-rated film” and could begin production this summer.

In new Riddick news, Bloody-Disgusting reports that Karl Urban (Dredd, Star Trek), who portrayed Vaako, the villainous Necromonger Commander in 2004’s  The Chronicles of Riddick will return with Diesel for the third installment of David Twohy‘s franchise.

Synopsis:

Betrayed by his own kind and left for dead on a desolate planet, Riddick (Diesel) fights for survival against alien predators and becomes more powerful and dangerous than ever before. Soon bounty hunters from throughout the galaxy descend on Riddick only to find themselves pawns in his greater scheme for revenge. With his enemies right where he wants them, Riddick unleashes a vicious attack of vengeance before returning to his home planet of Furya to save it from destruction.

Riddick is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
