‘Resident Evil’ To Begin Again, With a New Quasi-Reboot

resident_evil_milla_jovovich_1We told you back in July that Resident Evil: Afterlife was to start shooting in September 09′ and the studio had set a release date for September, 2010.

Now, it has been confirmed by B-D that the Resident Evil franchise will be getting a reboot after Resident Evil: Afterlife.

Tentatively titled ‘Resident Evil Begins’ (how original), the new project will take us away from the adventures of Milla Jovovich’s ‘Alice’, and will potentially retread the events of the first film by focusing on a military unit tasked with taking down a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident.

[Rant]

I’ve got to say, I’m a huge fan of Milla’s and I really liked the RE movies, despite their flaws and their deviation from the video games. The re-boot films may be equally as good (or better) but I’m still going to miss Milla and ‘Alice’.
