Earlier this Summer, actress Sienna Guillory announced on twitter that she was starting a training regimen to prepare for her return as Jill Valentine in what she then referred to as Resident Evil 5, and now has an official title of Resident Evil: Retribution, and franchise star Milla Jovovich and her director (and husband) Paul W.S. Anderson are both now signed on for the latest installment.

Just a few weeks ago, we brought you a report about the possibility of Sienna Guillory not returning in the role of Jill Valentine and that it was being reported that the role might be recast for the fifth installment in the series. Well, apparently it was at least slightly up in the air, as Guillory had to meet with Anderson and the producers of the film yesterday –

Guillory said via Twitter,

Big day tomorrow! Meeting Paul Anderson and Jeremy Bolt and Robert Kultzer to see what my future looks like…

Thankfully, just hours later she updated her Twitter with:

THANK YOU SO MUCH! RETRIBUTION HERE I COME!

So, there you have it! Sienna Guillory will indeed be reprising her role as Jill Valentine in the forthcoming installment of the popular Sony Screen Gems film series.

Resident Evil: Retribution is slated to hit theaters on September 14, 2012.
