Just a week ago, we told you about Sony’s Screen Gems producing a big-screen adaptation of the Capcom video game, Devil May Cry, created by Hideki Kamiya, with a script being written by Kyle Ward (Fiasco Heights, Kane & Lynch) who is also writing the screenplay for Hitman 2.
Screen Gems‘ original Capcom property, the Resident Evil franchise is getting another trip to theaters. The last installment in the franchise, Resident Evil: Afterlife which was written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starred Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Kim Coates, Shawn Roberts, Sergio Peris-Mencheta, Spencer Locke, Boris Kodjoe and Wentworth Miller was number one at the worldwide box office on its opening weekend back in September of last year, and went on to garner over $296 million worldwide in 2 months.
Now, Sony Pictures has announced that Resident Evil 5, with Milla Jovovich is now slated to hit theaters on September 14, 2012.
