Mmmmmm… zombie killing in 3D! Woot!
“Resident Evil 4: Afterlife“, due out September 17, 2010, is confirmed to be shot in 3D and will also mark the beginning of a new “Resident Evil” trilogy.
At San Diego’s Comic-Con 2009, writer and director, Paul W. S. Anderson (directed original RE; scripted sequels, but did not direct them) talks about RE4 and the launch of a new trilogy:
“I always envisioned ‘Resident Evil’ as a trilogy of films and we’ve been very lucky where it’s a trilogy where the audience has built and built. I wanted to kick off a brand new trilogy. I’m really excited we’re doing it [in 3-D] and we’re using the same camera system [James] Cameron used for Avatar. There are a lot of exciting things about this one. I don’t regard it as Resident Evil 4, I regard it as a re-tooling and rebirth of the entire franchise.”
What will RE 4 do with all those Alices? Milla Jovovich can’t say much about the script, but gives us a little taste:
“The clones are definitely in it. You’ve got multiple Alice’s kicking serious butt. And definitely the real Alice has some pretty major things happen to her that change the stakes a little bit. That’s probably all I can give you in a vague sort of way. It’s definitely going to be a different Alice than who we’re used to.”
I don’t know about you, but I’m delighted to see multiple Millas kick butt on screen.
