Relativity’s Unnecessary Reboot of THE CROW Takes A New Step Forward

Back in October we brought you the news when director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later, Intruders) who was slated to start shooting the reboot of The Crow for Relativity Media early next year, departed the project just a month after the departure of actor Bradley Cooper, who was supposed to take on the lead role in the reboot.

Shortly after that mess presented itself, The Weinstein Company got into a bit of a legal tiff with Relativity over the movie rights to The Crow and with that, the production stalled and it looked like the project would be tied up in court for a bit.

Now, Deadline reports that the two companies settled out of court, and Relativity has now hired Jesse Wigutow (Irreparable Harm) to pen the script and director F. Javier Gutiérrez (Before the Fall, Monkey’s Paw) to helm the project.

For the love of Brandon Lee, I hope Relativity’s remake of The Crow never makes it to theaters.
