Relativity’s SNOW WHITE: Eye-Popping Costumes and Delicious Details of the Untitled Film

Finally, we have something more to go on than the single photo of Lily Collins as Snow White in Relativity’s yet untitled Snow White film, released this past summer. From the looks of these recently released photos, this version of the classic fairy tale will be a feast for the eyes at the very least.

Courtesy of Entertainment Tonight, we have these gorgeous photos of Oscar-winner Julia Roberts as the Evil Queen, Lily Collins as Snow White with her seven dwarves, Nathan Lane as the Queen’s servant, and Armie Hammer as the Prince. Check out these pics and the insight into the film they bring:

Director Tarsem Singh describes the Queen as ever so-deliciously evil:

“She’s the cat that ate the canary. From serial killers to anyone who does evil deeds, they basically have a devil-made-me-do-it excuse, or they hear voices. I decided for the evil queen, this is going to be a person who sees her [good] self — but there’s a mirror personality.”

“She outsources her evil, just like most people. I wanted a person who is just schizophrenic. She’s a person who would just do all the evil she needs to do to stay in power.”

Singh talks about working with Ishioka’s stunning style:

”Eiko’s stuff is notoriously non-practical, so I have to make sure that she understands that in these clothes the person has to move,” Singh jokes. ”She will literally make clothes that are impossible for people to move in. We have to work out only the practical issues, and nothing else. Never the creative issues.’

These dwarves definitely compensate for their lack of height. Singh describes these dwarven woodland bandits’ strategy of overcoming being vertically challenged by masquerading as giants:

”These guys have a height problem, so they wear stilts much of the time. You have to make yourself look big when you’re that small. When they have a fight, they’re nine feet tall. When they come home, they go down into their tree and live small.”

Adding fuel to the fire between the battle of the Snow Whites between Relativity, Universal, and Disney, Singh threw down the gauntlet:

“They’re so far behind us, there’s no point in watching it. It’s a different type of film.”

Singh’s quite serious for a film that’s supposed to be a comedic adventure. Check out what scribe Jason Keller had to say about the film’s family-friendly script here and how it differs from Universal’s darker Snow White and the Huntsman, starring Kristen Stewart, Chris Hemsworth, and Charlize Theron.
