Reese and Wernick to Pen MICRONAUTS for J.J. Abrams and Paramount


Way back in the Fall of 2009, we brought you the news that director J.J. Abrams (Super 8) had been brought on board by Paramount Pictures to produce a big-screen adaptation of the toy line-turned-comic book series, Micronauts.

Now, Deadline reports that Paramount has hired Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick to pen the adaptation, which will be be produced by Abrams and Bryan Burk from Bad Robot, alongside Hasbro’s CEO Brian Goldner and S.V.P. Bennett Schneir.

Micronauts is slated to hit theaters in 2012.
