R.I.P. Pete Postlethwaite

Sunday night, actor Pete Postlethwaite passed away after a long battle with cancer. The memorable actor had roles in films like Christopher Nolan‘s Inception, The Lost World: Jurassic Park, Louis Leterrier‘s Clash of the Titans, Alien³, Æon Flux, DragonHeart and many more, in a film career that spans back more than 30 years.

Director Steven Spielberg, who worked with Postlethwaite in 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park and Amistad, once said that he was “probably the best actor in the world,” to which Postlethwaite quipped, “I’m sure what Spielberg actually said was, ‘The thing about Pete is that he thinks he’s the best actor in the world.'”

Postlethwaite is survived by his wife, Jacquelline, and his two children.
