The rumors of a Gambit solo X-Men film have been much louder than a whisper coming on the heels of the epically cast X-Men: Days of Future Past film coming out next week. Today we can finally report some sure-fire casting that seals the deal.

In an interview with Total Film, producer Lauren Shuler Donner (X-Men: Days of Future Past) confirmed that not only is the film in place, but that Channing Tatum (Jupiter Rising) will be the hero.

It is Channing, He’s a rogue, he’s a rascal, just like Remy LeBeau. And he can handle the action, as we know, and he’s got a real good heart, I know him personally. He’ll be great for Gambit, and he’s a southerner too.
