Powers Picks Up the Man In Black and a Young Demon Hunter

We’ve been telling you for some time now about Powers, the show that’s currently in development and is based on a comic series about two detectives in a world where some people have super powers. We’ve told you that it will be starring Jason Patric (Sleepers, The Lost Boys) and Lucy Punch (Bad Teacher) as the detectives, with Charles S. Dutton (Roc) as the police captain and Bailee Madison (Just Go With It) as a 10-year-old girl who is taken in by one of the detectives.

We’re now happy to report that the Powers production has picked up former Lost Man In Black Titus Welliver (The Good Wife) and Supernatural’s roadhouse owner Ellen’s daughter Jo, Alona Tal (The Killing). Alona actually tweeted the news herself, and executive producer Brian M. Bendis confirmed it in his tweet.

According to AOL Welliver is set to play Triphammer, a man who has created technology that can bestow and can take away superpowers. He also reportedly has the brain of Steve Jobs and the ego of Donald Trump. Oh dear.

Tal was confirmed in Bendis’s tweet as playing Zora, who according to Zap2It is immortal and has an amazing memory, as well as an “interesting” history with Jason Patric’s character.

The pilot is currently shooting in Chicago.
