POWERS: FX Greenlights Pilot for Adaptation of Brian Michael Bendis’ Comic Series

FX Network has just ordered a pilot for the television adaptation of the comic book series, Powers by Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Avon Oeming. The story is described as “a police procedural set in a world where superpowers are relatively common and centers on two detectives, Christian Walker and Deena Pilgrim, in a Homicide department that deals with cases involving ‘powers’.”

Bendis tweeted his jubilation at the pickup on Friday:

The pilot was written by Charles H. Eglee who left The Walking Dead to pursue this project. Michael Dinner (Justified, Sons of Anarchy) will direct. Sony Pictures Television is working with FX Productions on Powers and will begin the process of casting for a spring shoot shortly.
