Photos of Tom Cruise Suspended Almost 3000 Ft In The Air for Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol

Just last week, we brought you details from a press conference being in Dubai for the new Mission: Impossible film that is currently shooting there at the world’s highest building (Burj Khalifa). In Dubai, Tom Cruise revealed that the title for the upcoming film will be Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol.

Apparently Cruise was busy challenging gravity just prior to the press conference because TheDailyMail has posted photos of what is reportedly Cruise himself, doing his own stunts and dangling almost 2,717 ft in the air, near the top of the Burj Khalifa for the film. Check out the pictures below!

The site reports:

the actor was snapped hanging precariously from the observation deck of the building, which is 124 floors high, as fans watched in awe and terror from the street below.

Dressed all in black, the 48-year-old ran across the windows of the tower as technicians and film crew watched nervously from an open window above him.

Another actor hung alongside him for the scene, which see Cruise jumping over him during a chase round the exterior of the building. A helicopter hovered just ten feet away from the building as crew inside filmed the scene for the movie

The comments on TheDailyMail were almost as entertaining as the photos. Here’s a taste:

If you believe that you will believe anything…These highly bankable stars have huge insurance and there is no way a studio would even think of risking any harm to them..Imagine the financial consequences to the studio if anything went wrong..That is why they employ stunt men.

thats nothing! …. i lost my front door key last night so had to climb in the first floor bathroom window blind drunk, in the rain, without a safety line and nobody is paying me 20 million dollars!

I think this is SO impressive considering he’s half as tall as normal men.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is being directed by Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and stars Tom Cruise, Ving Rhames, Jeremy Renner, Josh Holloway, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Vladimir Mashkov, Michael Nyqvist, Léa Seydoux and Anil Kapoor.

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol is slated to hit theaters on December 16th, 2011.
