PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS Sequel Begins To Come Together With Freudenthal At The Helm

As SciFi Mafia reported to you in March, a sequel to Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief was in the works. The sequel to the playful movie loosely adapted from Rick Riordan’s five-book series directed at younger readers is reportedly titled, The Sea of Monsters, and would feature Logan Lerman again in the starring role.

Even though the project has not been greenlit yet, Variety reports that the sequel is gaining ground with Thor Freudenthal (Diary of a Wimpy Kid) now onboard to direct. Fox 2000 has not tapped its option on Lerman to star just yet but Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski are indeed writing the script for the sequel.

What do you think? Was Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief good enough to make you want to see a sequel?
