Paramount Shifts Release Dates for Trek 2, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol and the G.I. Joe Sequel

Paramount Pictures has shifted the release dates of three of their forthcoming (possibly) blockbuster movies. Director J.J. Abrams‘ as yet Untitled Star Trek Sequel is moving from its original June 29th, 2012 release date to the ambiguous and dateless fourth quarter of 2012 or summer 2013.

Paramount’s G.I. Joe sequel, which was originally titled G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes has now been retitled, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and according to Deadline, the film will take the Trek 2 release date of June 29th, 2012. In addition, the upcoming installment in the Mission: Impossible franchise, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was originally slated to hit theaters on December 16th, 2011, and has now been shifted to a December 21st, 2011 release.
