Paramount Pressuring Michael Bay To Shoot Transformers 3 In 3D

Michael Bay has made no secret of the fact that he thinks 3D but it seems that Paramount doesn’t agree. According to an article in Variety focused on films being converted into 3D, Paramount is pressuring Michael Bay to change his mind and shoot the third installment of his Transformers franchise in 3-D.

Bay’s next project is “Transformers 3,” and there have been discussions among Bay, Paramount and Industrial Light & Magic about going 3D with the pic. The big stumbling block is the extra time required to do production and visual effects in 3D, as the movie’s release date is already set. Having the pic post-converted could alleviate that problem.

Transformers 3 is slated to begin shooting in May and is scheduled for a July 1, 2011 release.
